Scotlands oldest mum: I’ve always wanted children

Scotlands oldest mum - Ive always wanted childrenJuliet Le Page became Scotland’s oldest mother when she gave birth at 50. Having settled down with her husband Richard , who is ten years her junior, Juliet has always been determined to have children.

“I was quite a determined person, I’d met my husband and thought ' I really want to have a family with this man' ,” Juliet said. “I was pretty sure I wasn’t able to conceive naturally so it had to be some form of assisted conception.”

Due to her age, In Vitro Fertilisation or IVF as it is more commonly known was not a suitable option for Juliet; she then considered fertility treatment using a donor egg.
